The Healthwatch Hampshire Engagement Project, delivered by Action Hampshire, supports VCSE organisations to gather feedback from underrepresented communities about local health and social care services. This project is helping ensure that community experiences lead to real improvements in health and social care across Hampshire.

Since launching in November 2024, the project has:

  • Awarded over 100 grants
  • Gathered feedback from more than 1,000 people
  • Amplified voices that are often unheard

Participating organisations engage their communities in ways that work best for them, whether through group sessions, one-to-one conversations, or supported feedback methods. Action Hampshire supports this by providing funding, resources, and guidance to help organisations deliver accessible, inclusive, and effective engagement activities.

Healthwatch Hampshire is the independent voice for people using health and social care services. It shares real experiences with those who plan and deliver care, helping to shape decisions and improve services.

The more people share their experiences, the better services can understand what is working well, what needs to change, and how care can be improved for the future.

Sharing feedback;

  • Ensures everyone’s voice is heard
  • Influences changes that improve people’s experiences
  • Highlights issues that may otherwise go unnoticed
  • Helps address inequalities in access and care
  • Supports improvements that services are expected to act on

The insights collected through this project are shared with Healthwatch Hampshire, Hampshire County Council, and NHS partners to help identify issues, improve services, and influence decision-making.

We are not currently recruiting new VCSE partners for this project. We continue to work with existing organisations to deliver activities and share feedback.
