The grants committee meets four times per year – 30 January, 24 April, 31 July, 30 October 2026
Funding is available to UK registered charities through their Open Programme (other programmes are by invitation only) which has 4 priority areas: https://abcharitabletrust.org.uk/our-priorities
- Human Rights
- Access to Justice
- Criminal and Legal System and Penal Reform
- Migrants and Refugees
Charities must have a turnover of between £150,000 and £1.5 million a year to be eligible to apply.
Grants range in size, with most grants awarded being in the range of £10,000 to £30,000. As far as is possible, the A B Trust aims to provide unrestricted funding to charities operating in their priority areas.
Applications are made through an online form https://abcharitabletrust.formstack.com/forms/eligibilty. In addition you will need to provide:
- An overview of your organisation’s work / proposal on a maximum of two sides of A4. (for more details, please refer to the Applying for a Grant page on our website.
- A signed copy of your latest certified accounts / statement
- Your latest financial forecast and the projected surplus/deficit for the current financial year
