We are delighted to announce our new partnership and energy project with SGN (Southern Gas Networks) – Safe & Warm Communities! We are working together to support the VCSE sector in helping beneficiaries learn more about energy efficiency and energy safeguarding.
Helping tackle fuel poverty
We know that many organisations are hearing from their beneficiaries who are struggling with fuel bills and some people may be living in unsafe homes. Often people may not know where to go for energy advice. So we are strengthening the VCSE sector to be able to offer support to their beneficiaries
Safe & Warm Communities is a brand new two year project which will support over 150 organisations across Hampshire, Isle of Wight and Dorset to support people to keep warm at home, save money, receive the right advice and raise awareness of gas safety at home.
How will we deliver the project?
As part of this project, Action Hampshire will be delivering free online workshops for the VCSE sector – providing basic energy awareness support so staff and volunteers can gain confidence in talking with their beneficiaries about their energy needs. We will also be creating a resource kit and provide ongoing support to any organisation who would like to help their beneficiaries with energy advice.
Grants of £500 are available
Any organisation interested in getting involved and can feedback to us on their subsequent energy work, will be eligible for a £500 grant.
