Sewing, choirs, arts and crafts. Here’s how community halls help us keep learning…
STEP 3: Learn new skills – research shows that learning new skills can also improve your mental well-being by boosting self-confidence, helping you to build a sense of purpose and connect with others
Luan is keen to up-skill volunteers and staff. She likes to develop people’s skills and has recently sent one of the volunteers on a Food Safety Course. Another team member has been trained to give blood pressure checks and a few of her team are learning how to give Functional Fitness MOTs.
At St Faith’s they run sewing machine classes in the afternoon. They provide sewing machines, all materials and refreshments and help for beginners. It is a friendly inclusive group helping all members at different levels with their sewing.
At Viables and Rucstall there are art classes for adults and children and choir groups to name but a few!
