Calling all rural community groups and buildings…

We’re seeking expressions of interest from those based in rural communities who would like to take part in a project that helps you to research and showcase ‘untold’ stories* of your community’s heritage.

The heritage you choose to explore could be centred around a tradition, local industry, history of the area, or other heritage areas. As part of the project our team will support you with planning your heritage project and engaging with your community, as well as with training opportunities for your organisation and volunteers and funding to cover expenses associated with your heritage project.

If you’d be interested in getting involved or would like to speak with one of the team to find out more details, please email hannah.henshaw@actionhampshire.org stating your name, location, and any ideas you have for a local heritage project.

*If your idea doesn’t necessarily count as ‘untold’ but you think it needs highlighting and promoting further, we’d love to hear from you! This project won’t be working on capital heritage projects.

 Some inspiration…

We know lots of you are also delivering projects which help people connect and bring people together. This could be through clubs /activities, help with transport, connecting with people at home and on the telephone or encouraging volunteering. We would love to hear about your projects and gather and share the learning from Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
