Rural Housing Enablers are currently supporting a pipeline of over 402 rural housing schemes with the potential to deliver more than 3,000 affordable homes.

Anna and Claire are two members of our Rural Housing Enabling team. Here they are just after a meeting at Baughurst Village Hall!

Action Hampshire delivers Rural Housing Enabling in Hampshire. We act as an ‘honest broker’ bringing communities, councils, landowners and housing associations together to identify local need and unlock delivery.

We play a pivotal role in establishing rural, affordable housing in Hampshire. We do this by providing a Rural Housing Enabling service. We work closely with the community through the Parish Council to develop new housing schemes which suit the needs of the neighbourhood.

Our key actions:

  • Act as a neutral bridge between parish councils, local authorities, planners, housing associations, and landowners
  • We establish a housing need by implementing Housing Needs Surveys
  • We help search for a site
  • Assist with finding a willing landowner
  • Help unlock any barriers
  • Make sure all the partners in the process are engaging
