7-11 July was Rural Housing Week and a time to shout loud and proud about the power of affordable homes which keep our countryside communities thriving!
At Action Hampshire, we believe that thriving rural communities are built on strong foundations – and affordable housing is one of the most important. We’ve been working alongside communities for over 20 years to help bring forward affordable homes that meet local needs.
So how did we celebrate our vibrant villages?
- We shared stories from across Hampshire, including our most recent successful 15-year journey to deliver 8 beautiful new homes in Curdridge and how local landowners can be rural housing heroes
- Our CEO Nicky looked back on 20+ years of partnership work that’s helped bring over 500 affordable homes to life – that’s 500 families, friends, and key workers staying close to what matters most
- Anna Miles, from our projects team wrote a powerful blog on how our homes shape our health, well-being, and happiness – especially in rural areas where challenges are often hidden
- We invited everyone to dive into our interactive housing map, explore game-changing new policy from the Rural Services Network, and even share your own experiences of rural health and care with a prize draw (still time to take part, see below)
