We’ve asked staff at Action Hampshire to give us their tips on keeping their mental health in check.

Here are our suggestions…

  • “If my workload starts to feel overwhelming then I pause and write a list of all the things I need to get done and highlight the ones I need to focus on that day to make it feel more manageable”
    Hannah
  • “Care about the people you work with and they’ll care back. It encourages a positive working environment and makes me feel more relaxed”  Caroline
  • “Making sure I get outside every day, get moving and spend time in nature whenever I can”
    Claire
  • “When you’ve had a tough day at work, focus on what you achieved and not what you feel you should have achieved. Even if it is something small, it will help you return to work the next day with increased motivation”
    Caroline
  • “Sometimes, even though it feels counterintuitive, I’ll physically step away from my laptop, do a non-work related task to re-energise and then get mentally stuck in”
    Helena
