We’d like to introduce you to our new Member of the Month – The Triangle Centre at Liss. It’s a thriving community hub with a cafe, an active social programme and an impressive mix of interest groups!

There’s plenty going on!

The Triangle Centre was once a Victorian village school but since 1997 it has been recognised as a community hub in the centre of the Hampshire village of Liss. Everyday there is a mixture of classes taking place or groups meeting here including Art, Pilates, Yoga, Italian, Tai Chi, Forever Young Fitness, Ballet, Bridge and a weekly Toddler group.

Many local groups use The Triangle Centre as their regular meeting place including Liss Horticultural Society, Liss Area Historical Society and Liss in Stitches. In addition, several local art groups hold their regular workshops here

Why not visit their volunteer-run cafe? There coffee bar run by a fabulous group of volunteers – open every day from 9:30 – 12:00, offering a selection of freshly brewed coffee, tea, delicious home-made cakes and a very warm welcome to all.

There is also a monthly cinema and regular fundraising events such as quizzes, an annual beer & music festival, an art festival, film festival, music events and social nights.

Upcoming event! Beer and Music Festival

Their next big fundraising event is an annual Beer and Music Festival, with 10 local ales and a selection of ciders plus live music from 4 bands including Liss Band who are celebrating their 50th Anniversary this year. The festival is now a favourite fixture in the diary for many in the area! We also have the scouts BBQ and Gin cocktails from the Hogmoor Distillery.

An important hub within the community

The charity, Liss Community Association CIO, now owns the Triangle building after purchasing it from Hampshire County Council in 2020 and employs a small team of staff to manage the facility, generating income from room hire, fundraising and grants to keep the building open. The Triangle Centre offers a lifeline to many by helping to reduce social isolation and through its daily classes and the coffee bar, improving and enhancing life for so many within the village.
