We’re delighted to have Heart CIC as our Member of the Month throughout June!

What is Heart CIC?

HEART CIC (Home Energy Assessment and Retrofit Team) is a community interest company based in Havant, Hampshire. They provide home energy assessments (carried out by an ABBE qualified and licensed Domestic Energy Assessor and Retrofit Assessor) to homes in fuel poverty, low income, owners with health conditions or homes on the IMD (index of multiple deprivation).

Who are the assessments aimed at?

The assessments are free to customers who qualify for the Warm Home Local Grant or other grant funded routes and provide access to various funding streams to finance the required measures identified.

What does an assessment involve?

During an assessment that qualifies for grant funding, HEART CIC install “micro” measures such as low energy light bulbs, CO alarms, smoke alarms and/or battery replacements for existing alarms, chimney balloons and draught-proofing

These assessments then provide the client with a retrofit plan (RAP) that allows homes to improve their energy performance by installing renewable heating (Air Source Heat Pumps), renewable energy (Solar PV & Battery Storage) and insulation measures (Cavity Wall and Loft Insulation) along with a ventilation strategy to combat mould and condensation issues.
