Healthwatch Hampshire exists to make sure the voices of people across the county genuinely shape the way health and social care services are designed, delivered and improved. Ultimately, their purpose is simple, to make sure the people of Hampshire are heard, respected and placed at the heart of every decision about local health and social care.

It all begins with listening to EVERYONE…

Healthwatch Hampshire gathers experiences from residents of all ages and backgrounds, whether they’re using GP surgeries, hospitals, dentists, pharmacies, mental health services, care homes or community support. Every piece of feedback helps them build a clear picture of what is working well and where people are struggling.

The insight they receive is a starting point for action. The team analyse trends, carry out focused research, visit services, and speak directly with communities whose voices are often overlooked. When issues are identified they are raised with NHS leaders, local authorities and service providers, ensuring they understand the real impact of their decisions and encouraging them to make meaningful improvements.

Alongside championing public voices, we also help people navigate the health and care system by offering clear, accessible information about their rights, available services and how to find support.

Healthwatch Hampshire is not part of the NHS or the council, which means they can challenge decisions openly and hold organisations to account. They are part of the national Healthwatch network, giving them the strength of a wider movement dedicated to improving care across England. Ultimately, our purpose is simple, to make sure the people of Hampshire are heard, respected and placed at the heart of every decision about local health and social care.

Would you like to get involved?

Healthwatch regularly meets with decision makers in the health and social care system and is able to ensure that people’s voices are helping to shape planning and running of care. Please do complete their current ‘What Matters to You’ survey and share it far and wide with your contacts. The more input they have, the more useful they can be.
