The Elizabeth Foundation has provided outstanding education and welfare services for 38 years.

Starting with just 5 deaf children, the charity has gone from strength to strength, now helping over 100 families every year. They do this through;

  • Baby, Toddler & pre-school education classes for deaf & hearing- impaired children, helping them to listen through hearing technologies and to learn to speak with confidence.
    Music therapy, supporting good listening skills, cognitive skills and brain development.
  • 1:1 speech and Language therapy, helping all our joyous children to interact with their family, friends and local community.
  • Monthly communication support groups for children with Downs syndrome.
  • Let’s Listen and Talk, a digital outreach programme for families unable to attend our Family Centre.
  • Summer residential programme, extending support to deaf children, parents, siblings and even grandparents.
  • Parent education, helping parents come to terms with the impact of childhood hearing loss or Downs syndrome, to understand technologies that may help their child and transferring skills and knowledge so that parents can advocate on behalf of their child.
  • Placements & mentoring – helping to upskill the next generation of professionals.

As a charity we do not receive statutory funding, instead we make applications to grant making Trusts and Foundations, seek support from local companies, community groups, individuals, and run our own fundraising events; perhaps you can support us?

We are incredibly lucky to have wonderful volunteers too, supporting every aspect of our work. Volunteers make such a difference, sharing their skills, talents and time so generously.

We are keen to grow volunteer support again this year and would love to hear from anyone interested in supporting administration and fundraising roles.
