Your chance to have a say on key issues affecting your organisation, community and the VCSE sector

The Hampshire Leadership Forum (HLF) brings together representatives from the VCSE sector to influence key decisions across Hampshire as well as working to increase engagement with the public sector. It ensures our sector is effectively represented in cross-sector partnerships – including with health, social care, and public health – and helps select sector representatives for key county-level boards. At its quarterly meetings, we regularly invite public sector colleagues to speak and engage with VCSE colleagues to help ensure our sector’s voice is heard and taken seriously.

Local Government Reorganisation

At the HLF meeting on Tuesday 17 June, we were pleased to welcome Antonia Perkins and Emma Noyce from Hampshire County Council to talk about local government reorganisation (LGR), something that we know is uppermost in a lot of people’s minds now. They talked through their presentation and took questions from HLF members. HCC will be delivering an online briefing for those with a professional involvement in public services Monday 14 July, 14:00. This will give details their preferred option for the future structure of Local Government in Hampshire and the Solent region Register for the briefing.

It is important to note that multiple proposals for how local government should be organised are expected to be submitted from the different authorities across Hampshire and the Solent area. It is vital that the VCSE sector has a say in all of these.

Action Hampshire will be working with partners to organise a follow up session to the devolution consultation session.

This will be open to all VCSE organisations across Hampshire and the Solent to make connections across boundaries, to have a unified voice on the issues that matter to you in the midst of devolution (Hampshire and the Solent becoming one authority with an elected mayor) and local government reorganisation (what the unitaries that make up that Hampshire and the Solent area look like). Watch this space for further details and a date for this session.
