We are delighted to announce that we are about to start work on our Let’s Be Smokefree project funded by Hampshire County Council’s Public Health. And what a great time to launch it as we move into Stoptober!

Following our tried and tested approach of ‘the Action Hampshire Way’ we will empower VCSEs to support their communities to stop smoking.  We’re offering workshops, grants, and direct support to VCSEs across Hampshire.

Join us and help Hampshire be smoke-free!

Your organisation will be supported to:

  • Deliver community-led activities that increase knowledge and motivation to quit smoking
  • Promote awareness of  the risks of passive smoking, health inequalities, and the availability of cigarettes to young people
  • Signpost individuals and provide peer support, increasing referrals to Smokefree Hampshire

Grants of up to £2,000 are available to groups who have attended a workshop and can support 20 members of their community to sign-up to Smokefree Hampshire’s stop smoking service.

Come along to our workshop on Tuesday 11 November, 11:00 – 12:30

Read an NHS worker’s blog about giving up smoking!

Jess Berry Head of Inequalities and Associate Director for Personalised Care from NHS Hampshire and IOW, has shared her story about quitting smoking to mark this year’s Stoptober. Her journey is typical of people who have tried and tried again to quit so hopefully this blog may inspire you to help Hampshire be smoke-free!
