Finding out how to keep safe and warm over the winter months is a valuable lesson for all. Some of your beneficiaries may be struggling to pay fuel bills and have limited understanding when it comes to keeping safe.

Action Hampshire run energy awareness workshops attended by individuals belonging to VCSE organisations. Many of the organisations attending these workshops go on to receive a grant to help share this information with their beneficiaries.

One grantee was shocked to discover that some people have neither a carbon monoxide or fire detector.

‘I have been horrified to discover people without both carbon monoxide and fire detectors – they are now educated as to the error of their ways. Can you believe they didn’t think they needed them as they lived in a bungalow!!Here’s hoping I do not come across any more people lacking gas safety knowledge. The Priority services Register is an unknown body to so many too, so thank you Safe & Warm Communities and SGN Networks.’

Our free ‘Energy Awareness’ workshops for 2025 are now available to book with the next date being Monday 27 January at 1pm, please do secure your place as almost all sessions in 2024 were fully booked. Book your place by visiting 13:00
