Application deadline: 31 December 2026

The climate change grant is available to community groups and other not-for profit organisations to help fund improvements to energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions and / or deliver projects to improve community resilience to climate change. The grant launched on 1 April and is effectively available until all the funds are allocated.  This is the second year the grant has been run. In the first year over 20 grants were awarded for projects including solar panels, battery storage systems, LED lighting, thermal blinds and curtains, and more efficient windows.  Key points are detailed below:

  • The grant is only available for community organisations within the borough of Test Valley.
  • Relevant organisations can apply for a grant of up to £10,000, with the minimum grant being £250.
  • Match funding of 20% of the total cost of the project will be required for grants of £5,000 or more. Anything less than £5,000 will not require match funding.
  • To apply, there is an application form to complete, with information on the website about other supporting information to include with the application. This includes two quotes for the works to be funded (using the same specification), details of how the project is expected to reduce emissions / improve resilience, a copy of the organisation’s constitution (or equivalent document), and a sustainability policy or statement.

Further information about the grant, and how to apply, can be found on the council’s website (Climate Change Grant | Test Valley Borough Council) or contact the council by email climatechange@testvalley.gov.uk
