Application deadline:  There are no deadlines for the regular programme

The Garfield Weston Foundation is one of the largest grant-making trusts in the UK. They provide grants to UK Registered Charities and Schools for Capital Costs, Revenue/Core Costs and Project Costs. They fund a wide range of areas, including welfare, youth, community, environment, education, health, arts, heritage and faith.

There are two levels of funding you can apply for:

  • Regular grants ranging from £1,000 to £100,000
  • Major grants of £100,000 or more (your organisation’s turnover or the cost of your project should be over £1million to apply for major grants)

How to Apply

To apply, you must create a proposal document (maximum of 10 pages of A4) and cover letter and submit via their grants portal via this link https://garfieldweston.org/for-grant-applicants/how-to-apply/.

Read the Application Guidance thoroughly before starting. Structure your proposal with the same/similar heading as the guidanceExecutive Summary, Need, Reach & Impact, Equity Diversity & Inclusion, Partnerships, Case Study, Your Finances, Projected Income & Expenditure.

If you wish to apply for a major grant of more than £100,000, you’ll first need to contact the Trust as these applications cannot be made through their online system.
