Grants of up to £5,000 are available to UK registered charities with an annual income of between £150,000 and £1 million for activities that enable children and young adults from disadvantaged backgrounds to thrive and achieve their potential in education and employment, and strengthen communities through services and opportunities which enhance the wellbeing and life outcomes of vulnerable and disadvantaged people. 

The Trust will now consider applications for charitable work under the following two objectives: 

Objective 1: Enabling children and young adults from disadvantaged backgrounds to thrive and achieve their potential in education and employment. 

o Developing reading and literacy skills.
o Enhancing early years school readiness for children in vulnerable families.
o Enhancing employment outcomes for young offenders aged 18-25.
o Enhancing financial literacy.
o Helping young people pursue vocational careers and apprenticeships
o Providing tutoring to develop attainment at primary and secondary school, and
o Strengthening communities through services and opportunities which enhance the wellbeing and life outcomes of vulnerable and disadvantaged people.

Objective 2: Strengthening communities through services and opportunities which enhance the wellbeing and life outcomes of vulnerable and disadvantaged people. 

o Building confidence, resilience, life skills and wellbeing through youthwork.
o Enhancing life outcomes for children in the care system.
o Providing services and advice to help people out of financial hardship and material poverty.
o Reducing social isolation and maximising independence for older people, and
o Supporting the homeless and those at risk of homelessness into sustainable housing.

To apply, charities should initially complete the eligibility checklist on the Charity’s website. Organisations deemed to be eligible for grant support will then be invited to complete an online application form.
