Application deadline:  30 April at 5:00 pm for expressions of interest

The Leatherseller’s Foundation awards grants to a wide range of UK registered charities under the following two programmes:

Main Grants between £20,000 and £25,000 for up to 4 years are available to UK registered charities with an annual income of between £200,000 and £2,000,000 that:

  • Are delivering activities to meet an identified need for vulnerable people in their community.
  • Are open and transparent about their work and finances.
  • Are able to understand the needs of their local community.
  • Are working in partnership with others.
  • Can demonstrate that the voice of service users/experts by experience informs service design and delivery.
  • Can demonstrate that the majority of people using the service have experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) or are supporting people who have experienced ACEs, such as parents and caregivers.
  • Can demonstrate the effectiveness of their approach through evaluation or external research.
  • Have as their core focus, the goal to prevent and/or reduce the harm of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) by providing services to children, young people and/or adults.
  • Have at least one year’s published accounts, and
  • Use a trauma-informed approach and evidence-based interventions.

Main Grants are available to UK registered charities and Charitable Incorporated Organisations charities that are working to prevent the occurrence of and/or support recovery from adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) by providing services to children and young people and/or adult survivors in recovery. 

Funding is not available for: Capital expenditure, Community interest companies (CICs), Hospices, Medical research, or Services that charge participants for access, irrespective of a beneficiary’s ability to pay.
