A limited number of grants, generally for up to £10,000, are available to small-to-medium sized UK charitable organisations working at a grassroots level to support young people facing mental health challenges or who are confronting drug abuse issues. The Foundation also supports education and healthcare projects in Developing Countries, with a focus on education for young women.

The Sasha Foundation, is a relatively recently formed grant-making charity that provides financial support and guidance to established grassroots charitable organisations. Its charitable aims are to:

o In the UK: supporting young people in the UK with a bias towards young people, who are suffering from depression and mental health issues or who are confronting drug abuse issues, and
o Within the UK and Europe: supporting education and healthcare projects and programmes in Developing Countries, with a preference for education for young women.

The Trust does not provide a minimum or maximum grant award level. Most grants are for under £10,000. A limited number of grants are made annually (the Trust’s total annual expenditure has decreased to around £40,000 over the last 2 years). Grants can be used for running costs, salaries, projects, equipment or to progress capital works. New and existing projects can be supported.

The Trust expects applicants to have sought and secured 50% matched funding.

A list of previous grant recipients is not provided in the Trust’s annual accounts. However, some examples of funded organisations can be found on the Trust’s website https://www.thesashafoundation.org.uk/projects-supported/
