Supporting young people to live happy healthy lives
There are so many projects across Britain doing amazing work to support children and young people to be healthy and happy. If you work with young people you will be well aware of the challenges they face with health and wellbeing. Waiting lists for CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) are at an all-time high, leaving vulnerable young people struggling to cope socially and academically.
Increased levels of childhood poverty across Britain also impacts physical health and wellbeing. Those with disabilities are disproportionally impacted by long wait times and reduced availability of specialist services.
Organisations operating in communities across Britain are providing vital youth services at grassroots level and the Health Lottery want to help. Here are some of the types of projects they are happy to consider supporting:
- Youth centres or outreach services that offer activities, mentoring or counselling to those that need it.
- Specialist support for children and young disabled people.
- Places that give children someone they can talk to, when they’re struggling to cope.
- Programmes that promote wellbeing and encourage engagement between young people and nature.
If you are running a project that is improving the health, wellbeing and happiness of young people and children in your community the foundation wants to hear from you.
Applications are welcomed from voluntary organisations working with young people. Check your eligibility now.
