UK registered charities with an annual turnover of under £1.5 million may apply for a project grant of up to £2,500 (with no matched funding requirement) which enable young people to:
- Address a lack of provision (due to a lack of funding from alternative sources) in geographical areas of deprivation and socioeconomic disadvantage.
- Have a direct impact and respond to a need in an immediate way.
- Have the best start in life and aim high.
- Provide immediate support, not just in the short-term but with long-term benefits too, and
- Respond to one or more of the funding priorities of the7stars Foundation.
The Foundation offers grant funding across the following 5 strands:
1. Project grants of up to £5,000 to cover the costs of projects that respond to one or more of the funding priorities of the 7stars Foundation.
2. Grants for individuals – grants of up to £500 are available for individuals represented by a safeguarding, legal, social or outreach referee. Grants are to promote happiness, offer opportunity, or fulfil potential.
3. Social Impact grants of up to £5,000 for one charity per year for a 2-yaer period for projects that align with various awareness days (see website), and
4. Shine Bright Long-Term funding – 2-year grants totalling £60,000 (£30,000 per year) for registered UK charities delivering bold and innovative ideas that go beyond short-term fixes, targeting the underlying causes of issues facing vulnerable children. The awards are unrestricted, they can be used for any purpose that supports your organisation, and
5. Apprenticeships – fully funded apprenticeships (up to Level 4) for registered UK charities and other organisations supporting vulnerable young people.
A 6th funding stream offering 2-year grants of £60,000 (£30,000 per year) dedicated to supporting UK charities committed to ending child poverty opens to applications on Sunday 1st March 2026. These are long-term, unrestricted awards designed to give organisations the freedom to act strategically – addressing the many interconnected factors which trap children in poverty, rather than being limited to a single project.
